Cross-border invoice settlement, powered by CrissCross FX via Stitch Group

Through the Stitch Group + CrissCross FX, businesses can settle international invoices in USD and other G10 currencies at T+0 or T+1. CrissCross FX operates as a SARB-approved Treasury Outsourcing Company, coordinating FX pricing and instructing a South African Authorised Dealer. The solution is fully fiat-based and managed through a self-service dashboard.

CrissCross FX is now a SARB-approved Treasury Outsourcing Company (TOC). We operate within the Stitch Group, which means that through the Stitch Group + CrissCross FX, businesses can now settle international invoices in USD and other G10 currencies in a streamlined, compliant and cost-efficient way. The service is delivered through Stitch Group entities, and in partnership with a South African Authorised Dealer.

Why cross-border invoicing is harder than it should be

Settling an international invoice should be straightforward. In practice, businesses that need to make regular foreign currency payments face a tangle of intermediaries, manual compliance steps and unpredictable timelines. Getting the BOP codes right, filing FinSurv reports, navigating exchange control regulations and locking in a competitive FX rate before payment terms expire: it adds up fast.

Finance and treasury teams carry most of that burden. And for businesses without dedicated treasury capacity, the default is usually a bank, which tends to mean limited visibility into rates, slow settlement and very little control over the process.

What we’ve built

The Stitch Group manages the full cross-border invoice settlement process on behalf of clients. A business deposits ZAR into a collection account operated by Stitch Group entities. From there, CrissCross FX, as the TOC, coordinates FX pricing through deep liquidity pools and instructs a South African Authorised Dealer. The Authorised Dealer performs the FX conversion, effects the outward payment and completes FinSurv and BOP reporting.

Turnaround is fast: settlement can happen at T+0 or T+1, compared to the multi-day wait that's typical with legacy correspondent banking. And because FX quotes are sourced through deep liquidity pools, clients get competitive execution without needing to negotiate directly with a bank's forex desk.

Clients manage everything through a single centralised dashboard: viewing ZAR balances, booking FX deals, reviewing and accepting rates, and uploading supporting documentation. The full solution operates in traditional fiat currencies throughout, with no crypto or stablecoin involvement at any stage.

Where we differ from the traditional banking route

Better FX rates: CrissCross FX sources quotes through deep liquidity pools as a TOC, so clients access competitive pricing without the back-and-forth of negotiating with a bank's forex desk.

Settlement in days, not weeks: Offshore beneficiaries receive funds at T+0 or T+1, compared to the T+2 to T+3 that's standard through traditional banking channels.

Automation via API: Rather than managing international payments through files, forms and emails with your bank, our API makes it possible to automate the entire transaction flow.

Compliance handled for you: The Stitch Group ensures the correct BOP details, invoice and supporting documentation are captured for each transaction so that the Authorised Dealer's reporting is accurate, removing that burden from your team.

Who this is built for

Any business making regular international invoice payments that wants less admin, faster settlement and better FX rates than a retail banking channel can offer.

That includes businesses paying offshore technology vendors or SaaS providers, importers settling international suppliers on tight payment terms, companies with ongoing service agreements with offshore partners, and organisations that have been managing FX and treasury internally and would rather not.

Because the solution is fully fiat-based, it works just as well for businesses in regulated environments where fiat-only transaction requirements apply.
